Hope Rises Also | January 5, 2020 | Rev. Jeffrey Dodson                Epiphany

Epiphany means to show up. A revealing. When the Magi bowed before Jesus, they were showing their hope of the promised one. How can we show hope in today's world?

Scripture:

Isaiah 60:1-12

Matthew 2:1-12

Hope Floats | January 12, 2020 | Rev. Jeffrey Dodson                1st Sunday after Epiphany

We are to be a light upon a hill. A bright, shining light of hope. Even a simple candle flame can give us hope. God offered Jesus in a simple fashion; a baby to bring us hope.

Scripture:

Isaiah 42:1-9

Matthew 3:13-17

Mary's Lamb | January 19, 2020 | Rev. Jeffrey Dodson                2nd Sunday after Epiphany

Almost everyone knows the children's song "Mary Had a Little Lamb". It is about the lamb not leaving because of it's love for Mary. Love Matters. 1st John says, "...whoever doesn't love doesn't know God, for God is love."  God's love follows us around like a little lamb.

How has God's love followed you?

Scripture:

1 Corinthians 1:1-9

John 1:29-42

Set Down Your Nets | January 26, 2020 | Rev. Jeffrey Dodson                3rd Sunday after Epiphany

At the time Jesus went to the Sea of Galilee, he tells the fishermen, "set down your nets and follow me". Fish were scarce so they were probably poor; yet they go with him.

When Jesus invites us to set down our nets, he is inviting us to envision a way of living in better relationships with one another.

Scripture:

Matthew 4:12-23
